1. Laguna Beach

Laguna Beach is a little town in Orange County that offers escape from Hollywood's bustle, whether you're a local or a visitor. The picturesque, expansive shoreline is situated at the ideal Southern California intersection, a manageable distance from both San Diego in the south and Malibu in the north. And a boat is the best means of transportation to either.

2. State Park Leo Carrillo Beach

Leo Carrillo State Beach is not only a gorgeous location for a beach picnic or surf session, but it also has a significant role to play in movie history! Danny and Sandy's initial encounter in Grease took place against the backdrop of the beach's well-known, rugged shoreline.

3. Marina Del Rey

In addition to the lighthouse, Fisherman's Village's lovely, colorful façade make Marina del Rey a great location to cruise past while in Southern California. While it is possible to spend the entire day taking in the scenery, enjoying live music, or indulging in some local seafood (or, better yet, doing all three at once), Marina del Rey may also serve as the starting point for a memorable Pacific experience.

4. Island Catalina

Consider Catalina Island while thinking of exciting destinations you may cruise to from Marina del Rey! You may hop (or, cruise) from Catalina to other surrounding islands like Santa Cruz and San Clemente because they are a member of California's Channel Islands chain. However, luxurious amenities abound in tourist-friendly Catalina so much that you probably won't feel shortchanged.
